The Tucson Symphony Orchestra (TSO) seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking Marketing Manager. This new position, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, will play a key role in the marketing team, helping to drive the TSO’s mission to build and enrich community through music by creating engaging single ticket campaigns, managing community ticket programs, and pursuing and developing community partnerships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Development and Sales
With Chief Marketing Officer, creates engaging campaigns to reach single ticket goals for the season and individual concerts ($1.3M for FY 2024-25).
o Works with Associate Director of Communications to create compelling email and social campaigns for individual concerts, including segmenting lists and crafting individual messages.
o Seeks out local partners and businesses to create promotional opportunities.
o Develops discount opportunities to drive sales and raise awareness.
o Creates and distributes reports on campaign effectiveness and ROI and presents plans to reach goals.
o Helps with development of single ticket guide, including preparing information and proofing, and distribution.
Manages list trades and exchanges to maximize visibility and reach.
Plays a role in the development of subscription campaigns and related materials.
o Prepares materials for and serves as a proofer on subscription brochure and emails.
o Helps develop segments and messaging for digital and printed communications.
Community Partnerships
Works with local businesses to create concert-related auxiliary events.
Develops targeted campaigns to promote events to new audiences.
In collaboration with Director of Education and Community Engagement, seeks out and organizes TSO presence at community events.
Works with partner organizations such as Visit Tucson, Local First, and local chambers to pursue mutually beneficial partnerships and increase awareness of the TSO.
Represents the TSO at community and networking events.
Generates group sales leads.
With Marketing Assistant, works to increase awareness of TSO programs among students, including student rush program.
TucsonTix
With Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Education and Community Engagement, develops and implements the new TucsonTix program offering free tickets to youth and select community partners (if implemented).
Develops application, fulfillment, and tracking processes.
Researches and recruits organizations to participate in the program.
Develops marketing materials for the program and works to raise awareness.
Tracks program statistics and provides regular reports on reach, usage, and attendance.
General Marketing
Will be box-office cross-trained, and will occasionally help cover ticket windows.
Regularly works concerts and associated events.
Will occasionally manage volunteer ushers at concerts.
Develops and maintains a google ad grant program.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BA in marketing, communications, or related field (or relevant experience)
2-3 years Marketing experience, preferably in an arts or non-profit setting
Experience creating and implementing campaigns
Familiarity with email marketing software
Strong writing skills, with great attention to detail
Passion for live music
Strong familiarity with the Tucson community
Passion for the arts as a tool of change
Commitment to inclusion and access in the arts
Creative thinking skills, with the ability to problem solve and think on your feet
This position will frequently work nights and weekends. Flexible scheduling is available during the week.
