Project Overview
The Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) is excited to announce a call for artists to create two signature mural installations at Park Place Mall. These murals will be a central feature of the Park Place Street Art Festival happening on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will transform the mall into a vibrant celebration of art and tradition. The murals will be completed live during the festival, with the selected artists capturing the essence of the day as festival-goers experience the process in real-time.
Mural Theme & Budget
The mural installations will celebrate natural botanicals, desert imagery of animals and plants, and general colorful desert themes. The murals are open to various styles, including abstract, literal, and graffiti-inspired art.
The mural budget ranges from $6,000 to $12,000, depending on the final location and size of the work. The selected artists must be onsite to live-paint during the event on November 2, 2024. A boom lift will be provided by Park Place for mural installation, but the artist must cover all additional supplies, materials, and required insurances.
