Corporate & Foundation Manager | Ballet Arizona

Summary/objective
The Corporate and Foundation Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of institutional funders supporting the advancement of the Ballet Arizona and School of Ballet Arizona. The successful candidate will implement strategies to expand the number of corporate, foundation, and government donors supporting Ballet Arizona annually; moving them to higher levels of giving and deepening their engagement with the mission and programs of Ballet Arizona. The Corporate and Foundation Manager will work collaboratively with dynamic team members and the Director of Philanthropy to achieve the fundraising goals for the organization.

Essential functions

• Corporation, Foundation & Government:
o Meet and exceed contributed revenue goals for institutional philanthropy.
o Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward existing and prospective corporate and foundation sponsors and donors.
o Create, implement, and manage strategy and timeline to engage current and prospective corporate partners using Ballet Arizona moves management systems that includes working an active pipeline.
o Generate accurate monthly progress reports with respect to goal.
o Manage fundraising dashboard for the Ballet Arizona board of directors by providing prospects and staff support.
o Support the board philanthropy committee meetings with up-to-date fundraising dashboards, prospecting lists, and reporting needs.
o Secure support for program initiatives including but not limited to: Ballet Under the Stars, Gala, and Community Engagement Programs sponsorships.
o Serve as the primary relationship manager for corporate and foundation sponsors, guiding correspondence, meetings, and follow-up.
o Manage grants team and review grant proposals and reports.
o Craft innovative and compelling sponsorship proposals.
o Track all corporate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship actions in Tessitura database.
o Conduct thorough research on corporate prospects and compare philanthropic proposals with similar cultural organizations.
o Ensure all corporate and foundation benefits are fulfilled working with members of the philanthropy and marketing teams.
o Work as a collaborative member of the Philanthropy team by working performances and supporting special events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a high level of digital literacy, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and be comfortable working with databases.
• Must possess strong project management skills including planning, organizing, prioritizing, implementing, and evaluating.
• Must demonstrate a high-degree of integrity, dependability, accountability, and global fluency.
• Must demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-performance culture
• Must be a strong collaborator and a team player.

Supervisory responsibilities
This position does not have any direct reports.

Work environment
• Work is conducted primarily in an office setting and at partner sites in the community. Event support at the main office location and at external event sites is required.
• Some weekends, nights, or on-call work are required.

Travel required
• Travel to and from external event sites (within Maricopa County) is required.
• Must be willing and able to commute to and from the office and event sites as needed.

Required education and experience
• 3-5 years of development experience with emphasis in securing corporate sponsorships and/or government and foundation grants.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred.
• Ability to project manage and self-motivate to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database strongly preferred; familiarity with integrated fundraising/ticketing databases is essential for success in this position.
• Demonstrated experience and success in the solicitation of contributions from corporations.
• Strong written and oral communication, persuasion skills, and analytical skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible to change
• Strong familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications.
