The Chandler Arts Commission, Chandler Unified School District, and Kyrene School District are looking for four Arizona-based artists to teach a series of six classes over approximately two weeks in Chandler middle/junior high schools in early 2025. The selected artists will work with City and school staff to conceptualize and lead a series of lessons during the school day. The lessons will be based around each artist’s individual skillset and provide meaningful opportunities for students to engage with a professional artist.
The series of classes will be taught over the course of approximately two weeks in January or February of 2025. Each artist will be paid $3,000, which will cover all aspects of the project including, but not limited to lesson design, course preparation, transportation, and in-class instruction. There will be a separate $500 materials budget for each artist.
