Young Arts Arizona offers art making workshops for inpatient children in several Valley hospitals and a Maricopa Juvenile Detention Center. The teaching artist will make art with children, encouraging them to release emotions through the art making process. In the hospitals, the teaching artist works closely with Child Life Support who know the children and bring them to the recreation areas from their rooms. Art sessions are generally 3 hours per hospital per week.
The job also requires completing teaching reports and gathering completed evaluation measures from children, staff, and parents.
This is a very part time position, paid by the hour. We are looking for someone who is flexible, reliable, kind, artistically-minded, and who has their own transportation.
