The Spix Foundation is excited to announce the inaugural SpixArt Youth Art Contest, inviting Arizona students ages 12–18 to explore the evolution of education through visual arts. Running from September 15 through November 15, 2024, the contest offers a creative platform for middle and high school students to reflect on how learning has transformed from ancient times to modern digital classrooms.
This year’s theme, “From Scrolls to Screens: Education Through the Ages,” challenges young artists to depict their vision of education across generations and cultures, and to imagine what education may look like in the future. Participants can submit their artwork online or by mail, with monetary prizes up to $1,000 awarded to winners in two age categories: 12–14 years and 15–18 years. Winning entries will be featured on the Spix Foundation website, offering
students professional exposure. We look forward to seeing how young artists reflect on education’s impact and showcase their unique perspectives!
As a “thank you” gift for fostering creative expression in schools, the first 50 Arizona teachers who submit classroom entries receive a special gift, while supplies last. All teachers who submit five or more student entries during the contest period will have the chance to receive an iPad.For submission guidelines, rules, and prizes, visit www.spixfoundation.info/spixart
